There is a Bobby Darin song that seems to depict the setting as to where Tennessee native and talented musician, Ivo Monroe Miller has landed: “Somewhere Beyond the Sea” on the shores of Kaua`i. During the early 80s and under the stage name Monte Miller, folks of Atlanta were entertained by his incredible piano and vocal talent at places like Hotel Sheraton Biltmore, Zasu’s Restaurant/Lounge, Riviera Hyatt Hotel, Tower Place Hotel Lobby Lounge, Terrace Garden Inn Hotel, Midtown Country Place Hotel, Downtown Marriott – and the Theatre of the Stars, performing for Dick Van Dyke, Juliet Prowse, Robert Conrad, The Lawrence Welk Orchestra, Robert Morse, Carol Channing and Mickey Rooney, to name a few.
In 1999, Ivo Monroe Miller assumed his given name when he moved to Hawaii and is so thankful he did. With a name like Ivo he fits right in the Hawaiian islands. Ivo has been very busy composing several award-winning songs, including his latest endeavor and original song “Come to Kaua`i” Mokihana Composer’s Contest winner. The song is dedicated to Kauai’s beloved Mayor Bernard Carvalho, Jr. in honor and appreciation of his community leadership and musicianship, respectively.
Kaua`i is noted for its relaxed atmosphere and genuine Aloha spirit – from the Kalalau Lookout with its spectacular views of the craggy Na Pali sea cliffs to the luxurious Poipu Beach on the southern coast and everything in between.
This charming island is friendly, relaxing and peaceful – the perfect place to experience ancient Hawai`i, its culture and history. Whether you spend a day or a week on this glorious island, the memories of Kaua`i will stay with you for a lifetime. Come to Kaua`i!
Back on Kaua`i after a decade entertaining across the islands, Ivo Monroe Miller can be found entertaining Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday evenings at Lemongrass Grill and Seafood Bar, a family-owned prestigious rated #1 on Kaua`i by Zagat’s Survey of International Eclectic Cuisine.
